Hello Ravenswood Youth Soccer Club Parents,
The RYSC Executive Board hopes that this email finds you safe and sheltered at home with your family. The health and well-being of our players and families is our number one priority.
We hope that your team mangers have been able to answer any questions you may have had during the club’s COVID-19 shutdown. With the spring season being canceled, we look optimistically to the fall season. If RYSC is allowed to resume soccer activities by San Mateo County and CYSA/CalNorth, we will be instituting social distancing during our practices and games. As we approach summer practices, we will send out more info on social distancing policies.
This pandemic also has had a terrible economic effect on our community. It is estimated that more that 20 million people have lost their jobs in the U.S., with more jobs lost in the months ahead.
As most of you know, RYSC is a non-profit organization that is 100% volunteer-based. This means that no staff member collects any pay; not the coaches/managers who teach our kids, not our club president or any club director. 100% of player fees goes to your child playing soccer, nothing else.
It is our club’s core mission to make sure that competitive soccer remains affordable for the amazing families in our community. We would like to go even further to make sure that all of our players can return to their teams without parents concerned about cost.
So we have good news. Any player that is paid for the canceled spring 2020 season will not be charged any fall season or registration fee. Why is this good news? Normally the cost of fall season would be $240 ($110 registration fee + $130 fall fee). Just giving families a credit for spring fee ($140) would not be enough. Tony Martinez, our Club President and the RYSC Board want to make sure that your player gets the full season promised! The club will be covering the $100 per player deficit.
In summary, all players who are paid-in-full for spring 2020 season, will be registered in the upcoming fall 2020 season with $0 additional cost to parents!
We are thrilled to be able to find ways to keep our kids playing at the highest levels of youth soccer. We also hope that this information will put your family’s minds at ease financially, when club activities resume.
If you have any specific questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to your team’s coach or team manger.
